The Indian eagle-owl, also called the rock eagle-owl or Bengal eagle-owl, is a large horned owl species native to hilly and rocky scrub forests in the Indian Subcontinent. It is splashed with brown and grey, and has a white throat patch with black small stripes. It was earlier treated as a subspecies of the Eurasian eagle-owl. It is usually seen in pairs.

Thanks to Vinay, who’s been telling me where to find this for the last few days. Despite the hectic week/ weekend, decided to take a chance this morning and find these guys. Most thrilled to have got 2 of them and if you look closely I think there’s a third one in there too.

One of them moved to the other side where the light was perfect and it was being harassed by a Black kite. Got that one’s shadow in a frame as well.
