Coorg has always been a happy holiday destination, mostly for the food and if you are lucky, food at weddings. In all my previous visits to the Scotland of India, that’s all I can remember – pandi curry and pandi fry.
With my new hobby, little did I know that this time around, it will be slightly more than that.
While bird hides are not my favorite type of photography, I was very happy to have spent time at 4 hides at The Hornbills Nest. If you want to get some stunning images of the Malabar Grey Hornbill and others as listed on their website, this place is a must visit. While we didn’t get to meet the hosts, Kiran and Neeta, we were well-taken care of by Puttu and Harish.
2 days, 4 hides, 4 lifers, 1500 shutter clicks – here are my 30 thousand words.

And, that’s that. Well, almost. To give you a glimpse of how close one can get to these lovely avians, here’s a short unedited set of clips from the hides.
Thank you for choosing to stay with us at Hornbills Nest
