The crazy Friday night rains meant only one thing. The water body behind Tarana will finally be full. And, that means only one thing. More bird activities in the coming days.
While the weekend was busy, I still managed to step out both Saturday and Sunday morning to capture some action. And, here we go.
Strangely, when I thought I’d see more of the water birds, the kites – Black and Brahminy, stole the show. Some of them were so close, I couldn’t even get their full wingspan in some shots. How do you like these majestic beauties?
Next up, caught the Little Grebes having some fun, like walking on water.
At the far end, a Cattle Egret with a sumptuous catch.
The Kings – Common and White-throated, never disappoint with their acrobatics.
A pair of Indian Grey Hornbills were seen flying past the water body on both days.
While I missed some decent shots of the Little Cormorant, Indian Spot-billed Ducks, and a dozen Red-wattled Lapwings, I managed to get this one of two munias – White-rumped and Scaly-breasted staring at danger lurking in the water.
And, on the way back found this comical Ashy Prinia looking at me like “You talking to me? You talking to me?”.
